This week I was fortunate enough to spend a traditional American Thanksgiving (my first) with my amazing new friend Cara and her family.
On the road I am constantly overwhelmed by the generosity of people I meet, whether they be friends, acquaintances, friends of friends, or complete strangers.
Cara’s family took this random Australian into their lives with overwhelming happiness and generosity. Fortunately the Sottaks were adventurous and easy going, allowing me to inject some Aussie traditions into their thanksgiving. I had such a great time making a pavlova, and finding some South Aussie wine and TimTams at the Santa Barbara World Market. Whilst on the road, it’s easy to forget how lovely it is to be surrounded by happy, caring, boisterous family members who are thrilled to get together once or twice a year. I am honored that I was so warmly welcomed to join everyone this Turkey Day 🙂
The video looks great Carly! I hope you have an amazing time the rest of your trip! /Lisa (the swede)
