U Hostel Madrid is hands down the BEST hostel I have ever stayed in!
For the very reasonable price of 22 euro per night for a 6 bed mixed dorm, the added features of this hostel make it more than worth money.
Located right on the fringe of Madrid city, it is an easy 20 min walk into Sol square. However if you decide that you don’t want to walk, the Alonso Martinez metro station is just down the road.
The hostel itself has a variety of social areas that all occupants can use, ranging from a cinema room, chill out lounge and dining area, to the bar downstairs and smaller relaxation areas on each of the floors outside the dorm rooms.
Free walking tours and paid pub crawls leave from the hostel everyday, and the bar downstairs, which is also open to the public, has a different events during the week such as a flamenco show, karaoke, etc.
The dorm rooms themselves are lovely. Each bed has it’s own shelf with powerpoint and personal light. The rooms are incredibly clean and have the same ‘new’ feeling that runs through the whole hostel.
The dorms all have access to shared bathroom facilities which are absolutely the best that I have used. The showers are each in their own room with an area outside of the shower to hang clothes and get dried and dressed without standing on a wet floor! So good!
Each floor also has a great little chill out area, which allows people a private space outside of the dorm rooms, but not as loud as the communal spaces downstairs.
The staff are lovely and the culture of the hostel is incredibly social, making it perfect for solo travelers to meet up with people and have an amazing time in Madrid 🙂
